Journal, 1778 April 22-July 28.

In this journal, Sullivan gives an account of Boston and its evacuation in 1776, a description of Halifax, an account of the Jersey campaign from 1776 to 1777, and an account of the occupation of Philadelphia in 1777 and 1778. This is not original material, but was rewritten by Sullivan to include contemporary sources, such as newspaper accounts. The preface is dated April 22, 1778, but the journal continues to July 28, 1778.

Thomas Sullivan was an Irish soldier in H.M. 49th Regiment of Foot commanded by General Alexander Maitland in the Revolutionary War.
